Matt Dominguez is a photographer and interaction designer based in Sacramento. He mainly photographs nature and cities with his camera and drone.
Born and raised in Hollister California but came into my own in San Diego and grew professionally in the Bay Area. I’ve always been a California kid, while being fortunate enough to have visited many places in the United States and abroad I still decided to stay and make California my home. I love traveling and getting outside, seeing new places and experiencing how vast the world really is. Sometimes we forget how amazing our own backyards can be when we get lost wanting to travel and visit other peoples homes and cultures.
I’ve always been oddly creative compared to my family, took an interest in music and been playing the bass guitar for over 20 years, would always draw and sketch which led me to becoming a graphic design major out of SDSU where I was able to study all things art and where my love of photography began. My day job is leading a small team of designers at Google which allows me to keep my photography a true passion project as something that refills my cup.
My love for exploring new places mixed with carrying a camera has taken me down a lot of different paths but finding those places and moments that most people just walk by is what really gets me. Sometimes it’s just a random item on the street or an epic vista from an unexpected location is what I really love. I’ll still get out and try to capture people sometimes but really it’s all about the moments that people pass by or pass up that I love catching. Creating memories and the feelings that come with it for myself and others.
